Student Responsibilities in an Exchange Program

By admin • Apr 1st, 2009 • Category: About Exchange Program

When we engage in an exchange program, the participant must be aware of the responsibilities that lie in this international activity. Not only should we be aware of our school responsibility such as finishing the course but also your duty to exchange culture ideas with the people in our surroundings. It defeats the purpose of an exchange program when we keep to ourselves and does not socialize with the local people.

Culture exchange program is on the 2nd top most priority, the 1st is finishing our course and polishing and acquiring skills is on the top list. Overseas exchange study is no easy thing, we have so many priorities and responsibilities overlapping with each other but we must list priorities to focus more on what we would like to achieve in this endeavor.

The student is expected to finish the course with satisfactory academic performance and should have acquired the necessary skills when the program have finished. After taking care of our responsibilities we should be aware of our responsibility to immerse ourselves in a culture besides our own. To open our minds, if not accept then perhaps know the local culture. Each student should be reminded that learning has so many facets. That in an exchange program we do not only grow cognitively but emotionally and socially. So we better addressed issues and the development of those aspects in our personality.

Your responsibility start at the moment that you realize that you will engage in the exchange program. So, as you take your first step and fill up your applications for your exchange program, the responsibility already had started. The responsibility to be able to take care of ourselves and to heed for safety precautions may be a minor reminder but of utmost importance.

Exchange Program is the most recommended schooling, learning that a student can have. It is exposing the student into a concrete learning situation.
