They say stereotyping is as old as time itself. They show ideas that people or person hold about others who got a different culture, look and attitude about them. Stereotyping can be seen in single phrase or words that people penned to a certain class or race.

School administrators now see a need to address stereotyping in teens. Belvidere and Warren Hills High Schools see that they will address the issue by participating in exchange program. Of course, this time the exchange program does not necessarily mean going abroad; students will have to participate in a student exchange and be paired to another student who comes from the other school.

If school administrators see that it is significant for their students to do local exchange program and has very good beneficial effects and outcome. So much more when students cross borders and meet, befriend, interact and understand other race’s culture.

Here are the following interesting destinations for exchange program travel:

  • Turkey . Turkey’s culture is derived from different elements and factors coming from Islamic, European and Ottoman Empire. The structures and culture are wonderful enough to keep your hands full for the entire program.
  • Scotland. This country has a culture very different and distinct from the rest of the Bristish Isles. And that difference makes it worthy of immersion and knowing. The dress culture is something to look out for.
  • Israel. Perhaps it is time to understand the culture of the Jew. This race is often mentioned in the bible. But it leaves a kind of reading something that we could not grasp. Being on Israel will each student a different perspective.
  • Japan. Japanese culture has always been interesting and influential. Nippongo is a language that would take time, effort and immersion to know. Japan has so much to offer to the exchange student.

A well facilitated exchange program helps students value their experience.
