Why they head off to places with ice and shake hands with penguins or as if looking for Santa Claus and the red nosed reindeer in the North Pole?
In choosing a destination for an exchange program, factors are considered in choosing such a place for an exchange program.
In considering a place you should consider if such place is an ideal location for an exchange program. An ideal place for one course may not be ideal for another course. It a refreshing thought that one exchange student one might travel as far as South East Asia for an exchange program. Why?! You might ask?
The place is the best environment to acquire knowledge and skills, one student may deem it necessary to be there to experience everything and what is there.
South Africa is not only the land of Safari and the Big Five but also it is the land where medicine students flocked for a two month exchange program and practice and apply their theories.
Germany and Japan is also a favorite place fro students who love technology. These countries are just on the top of the innovative technology league.
Philippines is over crowding with Korean and Chinese students who wanted to learn not the culture perhaps but the English language. Instead of flying halfway around the globe to acquire the knowledge of the English language then they join in the exchange program and get to study in the country.
The United States of America is known for their lucrative facilities that guides a would-be Special Education teacher. As the world became aware of the special needs of special children they send teachers in this country to acquire the necessary theory and practice needed so that they could cater to such social need.
Every country had just the specialty and characteristic that may be important in the acquisition of knowledge thus we enroll in exchange programs going to these countries. Sometimes, financial factors influence our decisions like in the case of some Southeast Asian students who opted to visit the Philippines than other speaking countries.
