What Did You Do on Your Language Exchange Program?

I went to Spain and ran with the bulls.

It was a great fun to learn the Spanish language with the flaring bulls just right at your back. I will never exchange it for anything. I am a World Literature teacher though my family engages in oil business in South East Asia. Being able to travel far and across the seas is already considered a privilege in my country.

I was encouraged by friends and family to learn the Spanish language through a Language Exchange Program for it is a useful communication tool especially in running our business. Besides the oil business my family engages in lot of international businesses. Yet, my heart is in teaching.

I finished a Bachelor’s degree course at the age of 19. My family expected me to help run the family business yet I decided to become a part time teacher and at the same time a call center agent. It was then that the seriousness of learning the Spanish language became a need.

A need that I need to fill. After two years of studying Spanish language I decide to immerse myself and feel the real Spanish tongue and so I went to Spain last year. A week after that, I was running the streets of Pamplona like a true blooded Spaniard. A very active and fun way of a language exchange program.

During the program, I got to visit Spain Splendor from it midst to the south and north. From Madrid, Costa del Sol, to San Sebastian Sebastian. I would never miss Las Ramblas in Barcelona. I got a witty and humorous adventure with the entire artist there using the new learned language.

I got my tan in Balearic Island beaches. Spain is a diverse poetic inspiration for me. It did not only teach me the Spanish accent and all. It bombarded my senses with culture, paintings and architecture. The language exchange program immersed me into a learning classroom and environment that challenges not only my intellect but also my personality.
