Exchange Programs Abroad

Agencies choosing a teacher to participate in a world wide teacher exchange program are having a hard time distinguishing those who have good intentions to those who got self interests in their application. Fullbright teacher exchange program has reasons to ask so many requirements that could ensure that there is less self-interest in the application.

Applying for a teacher exchange abroad requires a teacher to be a regular employee of a university or state college; and some universities also added a requirement or two to the required qualifications asks by the agency to ensure that the teachers will really go back and share their experiences and knowledge to the home university.

Teachers who participated in an exchange program for a year has the responsibility to share what they had learned to their colleagues and community thus ensuring that they come back is one step that a university should do.

Most teachers in the government are very much qualified to join the teacher abroad study programs, and most do go abroad to get their masterals and study about an effective way of facilitating education that can be brought back to their countries.

When teachers engage in an exchange program both the participating schools benefit from such exchange; besides exchanging learning methods and techniques we spread understanding between two cultures through these teachers. It is then a win-win situation for both participating schools.

One interesting benefit during exchange program is the learning of other culture. It means being immersed in an attitude, people, ways and language that are very different from ours. Reading about the different culture is enlightening but experiencing it was a totally different dimension.
